Aloe-licious – diy aloe water!
Since I am on a roll with fun ways to stay hydrated as the weather gets warmer- I might as well keep going! .
🌿Let’s talk about … ALOE!!
.
Okay- yes, we all know aloe has an array of amazing benefits; so let’s touch on a few of them!
.
➡️Yes, we already know it’s amazing for your skin- however did you know that aloe is known to reduce inflammation due to containing anti-inflammatory fatty acids! So cool!
➡️Helps with constipation 💩– (hey, not going poo every day? Let’s fix that)- So, now keep in mind don’t consume too much or too often or you will have too much poo!
➡️Aids in digestion
➡️Provides a great source of vitamin c! Also, contains additional antioxidant vitamins such as A, E, vitamin B12, folic acid and choline.
➡️Boosts immunity
➡️There are also a handful of minerals that are present in aloe such as calcium, copper, selenium chromium, manganese, magnesium, potassium, sodium and zinc.
➡️Annnnnd good for hydration!💧
.
Note: Aloe Vera 🌿 actually tends to be slightly bitter- So I was mindful to pick some flavorful herbs to mix with it. (Also, something to keep in mind if you buy the stuff on the shelf as it is likely filled with added sugars)
Deets://
32 Oz Filtered Water
2 Tablespoons Aloe Vera Flesh- just slice and scoop flesh from the outer skin
¼ Sea Salt
Fresh mint to liking
Handful slices of cucumber
Few slices of lime
.
Process://
With a high powdered blender add water, aloe, mint (leave behind a few leaves to add in whole to the jar), cucumber, a slice or two of lime and sea salt. Blend up until a beautiful shade of green!
.
I used a quart mason jar, poured the now blended aloe and water in topped with slices of lime and few leaves of mint. Let infuse overnight and ENJOY!.
