Non- Toxic Laundry!
I love talking about Non-Toxic Laundry Tips! More importantly let’s start by talking about why is it so important!
These products that have direct contact with our skin or en-hailed through our lungs have been linked to rising causes of cancer, asthma, infertility, decreased IQ, to name a few. This is not only your laundry products this is also for many other household products that are deemed safe to use. But they are certainly NOT safe.
This could also be the cause of symptoms such as, tiredness, headaches, PMS, heavy periods, eczema, depression anxiety, struggle to lose weight, brain fog (this is naming a FEW).
What I would suggest to you is to check www.EWG.org for safe products. Or keep it simple.
House Hold Cleaners I use!
All Purpose Cleaner;
My household go to is usually Vinegar. Yes, simple white vinegar and essential oils; orange, lemon and grapefruit are nice to use in the kitchen & bathroom.
Doterra On Guard Concentrate
Laundry Go To’s!
Sal Suds for Laundry detergent. It is fragrance free and gentle to be used on nearly everything (with exception of dry cleaning). 2-3 Tablespoons per load. With a handful or pour of baking soda, and a nice splash of white vinegar.
Laundry Balls for the dryer!
I like to put a few drops of essential oils on the dryer balls for a nice scent. My usual go to’s are Doterra’s; On Guard & Purity scents.
Wool Balls- I would highly recommend making sure you find 100% ethically sourced wool. Here is a link for a great option.
For smelly clothes (especially those gym clothes that no matter what you do or what brand you buy, often they just start to smell-it happens). I start with a clean sink, fill with cool water, add a cup or so of white vinegar and a few droplets of essential oil of choice. I personally love the Purity by Doterra for this. Soak for an hour or so, I like to stop by and swoosh the clothes in the water, to try to get the smelly out. You can rinse out and dry as normal, or choose to wash again in the washer. And tada, no more smelly gym wear.
Wishing you luck in your non-toxic laundry journey.
With love,
Amanda
