Basic Chili
This recipe can be made with; ground turkey, chicken, beef or venison.
You will need://
1 lb of choice of protein
1 tbsp of cooking fat; duck fat/butter/tallow
1 onion chopped
1 pepper chopped
2 - 15 oz Cans of (kidney, pinto, white, and/or black beans) rinsed and drained
2 - 15 oz Cans of diced tomatoes (undrained)
1 - 15 oz Can of tomato sauce
1 Cup water
2 Tbsp of Chili Powder
Salt & Pepper to taste
Toppings:// avocaod, shredded cheese, green onion

In a dutch oven, heat fat add onion/peppers, cook until slightly soft- add protein of choice cook until browned. Stir in beans, undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder- heat and add water- salt and pepper to taste.
SImmer covered for at least 30 minutes. (This can also be done in the crock pot on low for 4 hours).
Enjoy with toppings per choice.
